Lowell hit the road and headed east to participate in the Williamston Mitch Lutzke Invitational. The meet format is divided into large and small schools competing in combined races but scoring only against schools in their division. At the end of the meet the Red Arrows had scored a third-place finish as well as five medalists in the meet. The highlight on the day was freshman Avi Elabed who went 4:33.50 which was good for 3rd place, was a personal best, and hit the MHSAA regional qualifier mark. The qualifier mark means that Lowell can enter more than the two athletes if all three have the mark. Lowell already has two athletes that have hit the mark earlier in the season. Drew Swayze continued the distance success as he hit 10:34 in the 3200m which was good for 3rd and was a personal best. Lowell secured three medals in the field events as Lyle O’Boyle finished 5th with a 11’ vault, and Ethan Berg and Caleb Kooiman finished 4th and 5th in the long jump with jumps of 18-11.5 and 18-4.75, respectively. Lowell closes out the RCA season with the two-day conference meet on Thursday and Friday hosted by Cedar Springs.
