Huhn hits MHSAA State EQ Mark

By Kimberly Perry | May 4, 2026 7:51 AM

The Lowell track team split destinations as two distance specialists headed to Shephard for the Blue Jay ELITE 3200m. This race is the premier destination for 3200m runners in the state as all the top runners head there in hopes of laying down that best time of the year and maybe even hitting the MHSAA State Meet Early Qualifying mark. Lowell’s Marshall Huhn did just that as he ran a school record 9:11.97 which cleared the EQ mark of 9:14 and punched his ticket to the state meet later this month at Rockford HS. Senior Cooper Byrne was in the 2nd heat and was on a 9:20 pace but fell off the pack and finished in 9:40 which was his best outdoor time of the season. Lowell will compete next when they close out the RCA season with the two day conference meet at Cedar Springs.
