Arrows Kick Off Season with 7th Place Finish
The Lowell Girls XC team kicked off the 2021 season by lining up against some of the strongest teams on the west side of the state and came away with a 7th place showing out of the 18 teams attending. Lowell also achieved the team goal of the day which was to work hard and look for teammates during the race as that always leads to faster times and a better team finish. Annika and Katrina Sandman both scored event t-shirts as they finished in 9th (19:42) and 21st (20:47) place respectively out of 300+ runners. Keira Sandman finished 60th (22:26) leading a pair of young Arrows Allye Risner 68th (22:42) and Claire O’Boyle 79th (23:04) to complete the scoring.
Freshman Megan Lillie and senior Kaylee Byrne rounded out the top 7 as they finished in 112 (24:19) and 162nd (25:40). First time XC runners Jamara Harper 27:42, Bri Fullerton 30:02, Jadyn Young 31:40, Kiah Burgess 35:35 and Claire Uzarski 37:11 all scored their first HS XC finish in the hot and humid conditions.
