Lowell Red Arrows JV Claims Win Over Ionia Thanks To Fourth Inning Boost

With the first game of the season, the Lowell Red Arrow JV softball team got off to a hot start scoring 13 runs in just 4 innings of play. Led by Kelsey Stephens (3-3, 2 RBI, 3 runs), Sydney Zandstra (2-4, 2 runs), Jillian Weston (2-4, 2 RBI), Olivia Outman (1-3, 2 runs), and Lani Fetterhoff (1-2, 2 runs), the Red Arrows were able to score 8 runs in the 4th inning to put the mercy rule in effect.
Macy Huver took the win in the circle with a masterful performance, striking out 9 batters while only giving up one hit. Olivia Outman came in to finish the game striking out 1 with no hits allowed. Kelsey Stephens called a very good game behind the plate.
The Red Arrows look to continue their winning ways in game 2 of a double header vs. the Bulldogs.
