Girls Junior Varsity Softball
Biography:
Jacob Strotheide is in his 4th year as the head JV softball coach at Lowell High School. Coach “Stro” welcomes back the opportunity to lead young women to compete both on the field and in the classroom.
Jacob currently works at Lowell High School as the Coordinator of Student Support, aiding students’ needs in the classroom and extracurricular activities. Jacob also coordinates many of the online courses for students who need credit recovery or career path guidance.
A graduate from Grand Valley State University, Jacob holds a bachelor’s degree in K-12 Physical Education with a minor in economics. Jacob is currently progressing through an administration program to earn a certificate in Administration Leadership.
Jacob is excited for another opportunity to take a young team and mold them into a competitive bunch that “earns it” each day. Jacob’s teams will be competing at the highest level on and off the field. In each of his 3 seasons, Jacob’s teams have earned a cumulative 3.2 Team GPA or higher while being back-to-back JV Conference Champions.
Jacob is supported by him loving wife, Mallory, two children Maylee (2) and Kasen (1). Jacob also enjoys spending time with his Golden Retriever “Maizey”, family, and friends.

Volunteer Coach
Biography:
Mike started his coaching career volunteering in his community working with local kids showing and teaching them the fundamentals of the game of baseball and softball. In 2006-2007 Mike volunteered and assisted in the Lowell softball Freshman and JV programs. Mike was asked in 2008 to help with the Lowell Girls Varsity Softball Team as the Team’s Statistician. Mike assisted with the Lowell Varsity program from 2008-2011. Also, he coached the Lowell Girls Fastpitch Team during the summer of 2009-2010 working off season and summer tournaments. Most recently Mike is on the Lowell Softball coaching staff as the Assistant Head Coach for the JV program. He has been doing this since the 2018 season. Mike’s career has been dedicated to educating and teaching individuals throughout his career has as seen by his 31 ½ years of teaching at the college and high school levels. His college alma mater is Ferris State University with a degree in Trade Technical Education.
